Target Audience Profile

The target audience for the my production of an opening sequence to a horror  movie people in their late teens, young adults, in the age range of 16-30. This is because, this age group are most likely to go out and watch a horror movie and they will probably enjoy the thrill you get from a horror movie. 

Also, the graphic scenes that are used to in horror movies limits the target age to 16 years and above, meaning people below this age won't be able to watch the production. Moreover, this age group are not usually put off by the graphic scenes used, this makes this age group the perfect target audience for the opening sequence.

The most common target audience would be around the age of 16-25, and they are likely to be in education or a career that requires them to be creative. Also, this target audience is most likely to mainly males, this is because they don't usually scare easily and majority of females prefer to watch romantic-comedies or chick flicks, such as 'How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days' or 'Ghosts of Girlfriends Past'. 

 

To create a character profile and personality for the target audience; I would assume that the audience would enjoy a horror genre film because they personally believe in paranormal activity or they have experienced something to do with paranormal activity. Furthermore, the target audience for this genre, should enjoy the thrill and the adrenaline rush that you can get from a horror film. Another idea to consider for this target audience, is that they would prefer to watch films at home rather than going out to the cinema.
