Preliminary Task Evaluation

Evaluation of Preliminary Task

In this exercise I was responsible for filming scenes that included a character running. Also, I was one of the main characters in the video. Me and my group made sure that every member in the group had a chance at filming and editing, a role was allocated to each member and each member was given an equal amount of work. My group made sure that each person did a bit of everything when it came to editing and filming. My main responsibility when it came to editing was to edit the sound, my job mainly included making sure that each scene could be heard and that the volume on each scene wasn't too loud or too quiet. I adjusted the sound so that it was equal. Another, job I took responsibility for was drawing up the story board with another member in my team, my group discussed what scenes we would like and it was mine and my partners responsibility to make sure that the story board showed the scenes the group wanted clearly.

I think my group clearly showed a clear and smooth film and used a variety of shots. I believe the most effective shot used was the shot-reverse-shot. This shot showed a clear conversation between three characters.

My group acknowledged that there were scenes that needed to be improved, we all agreed that the POV shot was not as clear as we hoped for it to be. In order for the shot to have been effective we should have clearly shown who the character was before going into the POV shot, this would have made it clear on what was going on.

Me and my group decided to add a comedy element to are short film, this was so that we stand out from the rest of the groups, most groups decided to go for a serious outlook on the task, however my group wanted to be different and thought that adding comedy would be more effective and stand out from the rest.
